Podkowa Leśna, Casino Palace, 13-16.09.2007.
SYMPOSIUM, WORKSHOPS, EXHIBITION „Home-Garden-City, lifestyle for the XXI century” takes place in Podkowa Leśna and Milanówek on 13-15 September 2007. The event is educational part of the Open Gardens Program. The main focus of Home-Garden-City, lifestyle for the XXI century is built environment (historic and new architecture)- sustainable development of garden-cities and green towns around Warsaw through preservation and sustainable development.
PURPOSES:
ˇRaise awareness towards 'green’ approach to development – 'green’ architecture, renewable energies, ecology, preservation – sustainable development
ˇNetwork with green towns (first of all the towns of historic value) around Warsaw in order to help them to start common projects based on sustainable development philosophy
ˇDevelop an international program for the Center for Podkowa Lesna Citizens’ Activities
This project is the first stage of a longer term program that will be coordinated by the Center for Podkowa Lesna Citizens’ Activities (the Center is a new institution located in the newly renovated (with help of EU funding) villa called Casino Palace, located in Podkowa Lesna?s City Park (located in the center of the garden-city, will be opened this summer).
Project organized in partnerships with British Council, Council of Polish Architects, Preservation Trades Network, under honorary patronage of the Danish Ambassador in Poland.
